What Other Authors Have to Say

“Working with K.T. on the first three chapters of my book was a great experience. Her editorial feedback was spot-on, catching details i’d missed and offering truly insightful comments. She is as thorough as she is thoughtful, and she remained timely and responsive throughout the process.

K.T.’s feedback helped me see my work from new angles, which was incredibly valuable. Her insights gave me the confidence I needed to make revisions to my story that had previously felt insurmountable.

For any writers looking for a sharp, dependable, and genuinely helpful editor, I highly recommend K.T.”

“Working with K.T. was like being a princess locked away in a tower waiting for her Prince Charming and he finally shows up, but it’s actually a tiny dark haired girl with glasses and a laptop.

Just kidding 😂😂

There aren’t enough positive words in the English language to fully capture my experience working with K.T. I contracted her services for a beta read of my contemporary romance novel, and from the very start, she was kind, helpful, AND insanely affordable. Not only that, but also more than willing to work with me on a tight deadline. After getting through the beta read quicker than anticipated, she retuned an extremely detailed critique, walking through her observations and suggestions (inclusive of specific examples and how she’d modify them which I found immensely helpful in revisions).

In addition to those, she also included a number of things she loved about the story, and it was that combination which gave my spirits a boost enough to bluster my confidence when starting the daunting task of editing. I came back to her positive remarks many times when I was frustrated and feeling low. That, coupled with the way she explains her suggestions to make it easy to apply the concepts not just to the specific section she mentions, but throughout is what got me through my edits in record time. 10/10 will use her services again!”

“After a long, strenuous search for a best-match editor for my writing style, I came across K.T.’s writing and instantly fell in love with it. I figured, if her editing skill was even half as good as her books, then we would be a perfect match!

Not only did she completely blow my expectations out of the water, but she raised the bar for even my own writing skills, seeing so much more potential than even I could with my story. Her line edits are precise, and her notes/suggestions on plot and story structure are so laser focused, it feels like she knows my characters just as well as I do.

If there were any suggestions about story or character that I was confused or unsure about, she never once made me feel like I couldn’t talk to her about it. Working with her was a magical experience, the absolute perfect fit for my writing style, and I can’t wait to use her services again with my next book!”

Samantha Verba, author of the Can’t Wait to be Dead series

“Working with K.T. Carlisle as a beta reader was an exceptional experience. Her feedback was thoughtful, actionable, and clearly grounded in a deep understanding of both storytelling craft and the publishing industry. She didn’t just point out areas for improvement, though. She offered clear, practical insights that strengthened my manuscript in meaningful ways.

Beyond the quality of her feedback, she was an absolute professional. She met every deadline she set, even while navigating major life events like her wedding and honeymoon, which speaks volumes about her dedication and reliability. Her belief in my work ultimately led her to recommend my manuscript to an agent, which is a testament to both her integrity and the confidence she has in the writers she works with.

I highly recommend her without hesitation to any author looking for insightful, constructive, and genuinely supportive feedback.”

“Let me start with the short version first – K.T. is amazing.

OK, I guess I’d better elaborate. K.T. completely transformed one of my query packages. She rearranged my letter so the right info stood out and then gave comprehensive feedback on my first three chapters. What stood out was the mix of suggestions for changes, from simple grammar and punctuation to flow and plot points, and positive comments on parts that she loved or made her laugh.

Now don’t get me wrong. There was plenty for me to improve on but it was all done positively. With my autism I can get spiky when given feedback even when it’s done with the best intentions, but the way K.T. did it was perfect for me in no small part because she clearly explained why she was suggesting each change.

I can’t say if the new query package is successful yet as it’s early days. But it’s been given the best possible chance. And if I get no interest then I’ve already decided to go the self-publishing route and will most definitely work with K.T. again to do a full edit. Well that’s of course if she doesn’t run for the hills when she sees my email and all my incorrect dialogue punctuation.”

Neil Bailey

“K.T. spotted a few blind spots where I could up the emotional connection for my characters, found scenes that weren’t necessary to the development of the plot, and hit on a crucial element needed for my conclusion to give the reader the why’ they’d be asking for.

She also took the time to tell me about the elements of my story that were strong, the scenes that were impactful, and the aspects of my writing that resonated strongly. In a critique it is important to see where you need to improve, but knowing your strengths frees you to tackle those areas that need work.

Her feedback was concise and honest, but also encouraging. The value she placed on my story and work gave me the confidence to know my story is worth putting into the world.

I would recommend K.T. to anyone needing an extra set of eyes on their work. Her feel for story structure, characterization, and pure excellent writing is evident in her own books, and she is adept at applying those skills to the work of other authors.”

Kayleigh Suggett, author of the Verona Montego series

“K.T. gave me honest and actionable feedback on my manuscript as a beta reader.

Her eye for detail and finding even the tiniest plot holes is impressive!

K.T hyped my book up while pointing out places that needed work all at an affordable rate. She gave deadlines and stuck to them which I really appreciate as someone who is very schedule oriented. I would definitely use K.T’s services again in the future.”

“I have worked with KT Carlisle for editing services, beta reading, and query packages. As always, she delivers. What is most helpful is not just the notes, but the explanation behind the notes. Which has educated me and made me a better writer overall. Since working with her, I have received multiple full manuscript requests. She’s definitely helped me take my writing to the next level. I can’t recommend her enough!”

David Nast

“As a writer who loves gritty details, sees patterns, and values high precision, I was impressed with K.T. Carlisle’s proofreading. Not only did she catch issues that slipped through multiple drafts, but her attention to detail showed throughout the entire manuscript of Decimation Protocol. Her thoughtful commentary in the editor’s letter, professionalism, and thoroughness made the whole process smooth, and I’ve already booked future projects with her.”

Kyle Belote, author of Decimation Protocol

“K.T.’s editing is just what your book needs. She found my book’s flaws, highlighting weaknesses I couldn’t see, so I could polish them away. She also provided encouragement and guidance, with commentary through my manuscript and a detailed editorial letter.

K.T.’s guidance is thorough, thoughtful, and kind. She made it so easy to see where I needed to smooth rough spots, and fill plot holes, and gave me all the encouragement an author wants to hear.
As for price? Worth every penny.

Every book needs an editor. Yes, even yours, and K.T. will help your book shine like a star, and bring readers back for more.”

Serena Dracis, author of Salt, Sky, and Fire

“K.T. Carlisle’s beta read was worth every penny. Not only did she catch stylistic errors, but she caught developmental errors as well. She showed passion for my story and highlighted elements I overlooked. With her help, I feel ready to query.”
